Weight influences mental health, and mental health influences weight but the relationship extends far beyond behavior alone. Biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors all shape how individuals experience their bodies, their health, and themselves.
This three-part intermediate series examines the mental health–weight connection, the impact of weight stigma and internalized bias, and the emerging psychological implications of GLP-1 medications and modern pharmacology treatments. Designed for mental health professionals, the series combines current evidence, clinical insights, and lived experience perspectives to help clinicians better understand and support individuals navigating weight-related concerns or treatments.
